The Children of Progeny

Culture

There are very few that worship the old ways still, but those who do never do so openly. After the great war, many citizens of Verdai thought Dragons to be trivialized. First by their extinction by mortal men, and furthermore when resurrected by one who wields them as his own Holy Symbol. Because of this, small sects of worshippers meet in private where they discuss life by the old ways, discussing the discourse between the Chaotic Chromatics and Orderly Metallic, and how they all bowed their heads to their undisputed leader, Relaquum. As such, most worshippers try to maintain a neutral perspective on Law and Chaos, believing either end of the spectrum to be radical and unsustainable. The most glaring example of this world view was the now devastated Kingdom of Ostia. Once a country in its own right, ironically swallowed by the lawful Empire of Lokrein.

History

It is unknown when the worship of Dragons was normalized, but it is generally accepted that it began when lesser life gained sentience, but everything came to a sudden and swift end when Great War Humanoids hunted their old masters solely to be recognized for their own glory and perceived god-like status.

Mythology & Lore

At the beginning of Holdtronja, Alexander and Eleanor made basic life and watched it spread, but their philosophies were split from that moment on. Alexander believes that, for life to function in the long term, it must face a strict order and organization. Eleanor, however, believed that life can prevail through anything, and only the strongest deserve to live, otherwise life would collapse upon itself and grow weak. The first of Eleanor's self made beings personified that philosophy perfectly. Though its true name has been lost to time, it has become known as The Progenitor. A seven headed draconic beast made to destroy the weak and test the strong. Alexander, recognizing the cataclysmic potential upon their new world created the Nephilim, Radiant giants that would come to birth the other giant kin. These Nephilim banded together and planned an ultimately devastating battle with the progenitor, where they came out victorious, ripping the seven heads off the beast. These seven heads would become the first true dragons. Three Metallic, Three Chromatic, and their leader, the Platinum Relaquum.   After this, Dragons and Giants have been Rivals in the wild. But where the Giants Thrived in their clans, utilizing Forge and Family, the Dragons largely lived on their own, deep within lairs away from society. This separation meant that not many dragons were born in the years, and this helped lead to the dragons downfall when they relived the progenitors downfall by the hands of the Humanoids of The Great War.

Sects

The Kingdom of Ostia was the most current example of the Dragon Worshippers, though they mainly followed the philosophies of Relaquum as it was a little known secret that the Royal Lineage descends from the Platinum Dragon.
