Verdley

Verdley is one of the original Fourteen founding baronies in the composition of the Kingdom of Ostia. Lead by the Locke family, the Verdley Barony is steward to multiple baronets and knights dedicated to upholding the barony and its parent kingdom.

The Barony is furnished by the Locke family. Verdley also houses seven baronets, and a number of knight fees.

Culture

The Verdlian are a traditional group of people who value Justice and Might first and foremost. They are also more grounded in practicality and survival, forgoing some of the narrower constraints of etiquette unlike their Daldun counterpart. The Verdlian value humility and respect most of all, as well as their forms of military service. They see themselves as honorable and trustworthy, while outsiders may perceive them as gruff.

History

The Verdley Barony is one of the original fourteen founding baronies of Ostia. It was originally named for its verdant forest and wildlife, which made it a prized settling spot for huntsman and woodsman. It is chronicled that the original presiding family was the Lightfoot house, which died out as a result of the Battle of Surburry. As per the will of Ser Aerik Lightfoot and verified by Queen Lilina of Ostia, Ser Lucas Locke and the Locke family now preside over this barony as of 488, 2nd era.
