Bashari Timberlands
The Bashari Timberlands is a forested region located to the far west of the Mashiq. Situated where the Kanesh Peninsula meets the mainland, the Bashari Timberlands are the largest woodland in all of Nioa. Despite its critical position, the rugged terrain and thick vegetation has challenged extensive mortal settlement. Today, it is home to several towns and villages as well as a number of defensive fortifications controlled by the Imperium of Iskendra, the Pilgrim States, and the Qartagonian Emirates.
Ecosystem
The Bashari Timberlands receives some of the highest percipitation on the Nioan continent. Much of this falls as rain, but in the higher elevations it clings to the hills and mountains as fog and snow.
The Bashari Timberlands is a densely forested region, covered in conifers and specifically cedar trees. The cedar trees of Bashari are particularly famous, being mentioned even in the oldest of Temekanian texts.
