Jaffré Betrays the Ghosts of Méru

Military action

122B.S.A.
25/3

King Jaffré of Dungannon betrays the Méruladic forces, leading to the destruction of Tamorian resistance to Palladian forces.

After a narrow defeat, the coalition of Méruladic forces known as the Ghosts of Méru were in retreat and their leaders went into hiding in Devonia. One of their leaders, the King of Dungannon, Jaffré, sold the others out to the Palladian general Gnaeus Dexion. It is said that he did this for "a mere chest of silver" but in addition, Jaffré was allowed to become a client king of the Palladians and his people, the Devonian halflings, were spared the horrors of Palladian occupation and enslavement. The other Ghosts of Méru were captured and shipped to Iskendra, where they were paraded through the city and then publically executed.
