Political event
For unknown reasons, the twelve families of Solstice depose Battista Thrushcut di Eubteus and install a new strategoi, Corvinos Keenbeak di Strozza. Strozza would later become widely considered the father of Solstice, instituting its laissé-faire commerce policies and ancestral tolerance.
in 4 SE, just three years after she was elected, Battista was removed from office by the twelve families. None know exactly why; some say she sought war against the merfolk of Kicoshaeka, others claim she wanted to use the fleet to find a lost Mithril Era treasure buried at the bottom of the sea. Regardless the reason, Battista Thrushcut was banished and the city elected its second strategoi, Corvinos "Keenbeak" Strozza. Unlike Battista, Corvinos was neither a pirate nor had any military experience. As head of House Strozza, he had openly done trade with the Palladians as well as the merfolk of Kicoshaeka. Some more fantastical accounts even claim he could speak fluent Mermish. Corvinos endeavored to connect Solstice to the rest of Placidia through trade and exchange. This was accepted by most of the twelve houses until 8 SE when the first wave of the Goblin Migrations arrived in Placidia.
