Cieuray is in the north-central portion of the Imperial Continent, between Ovri to the west and Kurigama to the east. The capital city of Laronde is located at the confluence of the two main rivers in Cieuray.

Following the death of Emperor Thibaud Descombes in the first battle with Th'rix in the fall of 322 IF, Leon Travers, head of the Church of the Golden Sword, sat the throne and was accepted.

The Loup Rouge Rebellion

After the Wildling Conspiracy was exposed in the 300 IF, a group of Cieurane people lead by Claude Halphen attempted to overthrow the imperial government. The rebels, or those claiming allegience to them, executed a number of members of the nobility presumed to have been involved in the conspiracy before being defeated by the Cieurane Imperial Army and The Church of the Golden Sword. Halphen was hanged for his role in the rebellion.
