Void Brain

Void Brain is a mental condition where the afflicted will blank out for various amounts of time, being unable to respond to external responses. The afflicted are generally unaware of these blank outs unless it is pointed out to them.
Void Brain blank outs can last for a few seconds to a couple of minutes. The longest recorded time is about 5 minutes.

Diagnosis

Hoomans can only be diagnosed with Void Brain when it follows these conditions.
  • The afflicted is not considered to be daydreaming.
  • There are no external factors that could be causing it.
  • It is difficult to snap them out of it if at all.
  • The occurrence of blank outs happens multiple times per day.
  • The afflicted have had symptoms for at least 6 months.
Doctors are encouraged to look at other options before diagnosing with Void Brain, due to the symptoms also being an indication of other more serious conditions or diseases.

Treatment

While there is no treatment to stop Void Brain, the afflicted are encouraged to record when blank outs occur (with the help of family/ friends) as well as learn the signs of when it might start.

Cultural Reception


Some Hoomans believe that hoomans with Void Brain are actually listening to The Void and find it unsettling.
