Predator

The predator is the original standard issue transport for Terrans on Horizon. An off-road transport buggy with reasonable cargo capacity and light armoring. It was designed with a hydro-electric fuel cell to drive the electric motor. The predator is a clean and quiet and rugged transport vehicle which is ideal for the varying terrain encountered.

The predator can be used to travel hundreds of miles with limited maintenance and replenishment requirements.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Hydro-Electric Power Cells provide the power source. Electrolysis within the fuel cell generates the power that drives the vehicles engine. The power cell requires servicing every 2 years to replace the catalysts. And the distilled water requires topping up every 3 months.

Electric-Motor provides the necessary drive to the Vehicle. It is a DC Motor allowing variable speed and torque control for different conditions.

Chromatic Paint on the vehicles allow the frame and body work to be recoloured at will by the operator. This can be used to help camouflage the vehicle. The onboard computer for the Predator stores a prefixed array of patterns.

History

When the original research team reported back a pristine, resource rich world. It was decided that although the Corporation planned to take maximum advantage of such wealth that was potentially available, that they would on this world take great pains to utilize green techniques and technologies as well as maximum possible recycling.

This would preserve the world, preventing the development of the badlands and pollution prevalent on Terra whilst maintaining the natural environments and eco-systems.

The Predator was the first new transport vehicle built for Horizon to utilize these green technologies. Its capabilities and performance have meant that in 20 years these vehicles have not been removed, simply upgraded and repaired.
