The Hammer of Grwoul

"Every leader of our people has had this artifact passed down to them. One day, it could be yours, but until then I shall keep hold of it and defend my people from all who would threaten them."
— Sole of the Earth speaking to his potential successor Wrex

There are many artifacts in the galaxy of Horizon that have been passed down from generation to generation, with those wielding them to claim they hold great power inside. Some of these are true, and may in fact be as ancient as the First themselves. More often they are little more than fancy toys, legends bigger than reality. The Hammer of Grwoul is one of the few artifacts that has true power inside it, and could very well be one of the few true First Totems. Wielded by the first great leader of the Walin, the great two-handed weapon has been passed down to every powerful leader in Walin history. Not all them were wise or even kind, but all were strong. Sole is the current wielder of the hammer, and those who have witnessed him wield it in battle know every legend surrounding it is true.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The internal workings of the hammer are not very well understood despite many attempts to study it by the Walin. What is known is that it has an intricate connection to the Void and that some form of process has made the artifact as conductive to the Void as any Void Crystal, possibly even more so. The most unique property of the weapon is its ability to enhance the Void powers of an individual, and store those powers in itself for use by others. Every wielder of this weapon has access to the powers of all previous wielders, making it a versatile and deadly artifact in knowledgeable hands.

Significance

The Hammer of Grwoul is the symbol of leadership in Walin society and is a powerful weapon in its own right. The loss of this artifact would be the loss of the very soul of the Walin itself.
