Bullbo
Bullbos are a species of large, temperamental, boar-like beasts.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Male bullbos have tusks that grow from their mouths. Mature male bullbos also have large, steer-like horns that grow from the sides of their head. Female bullbos lack both of these features.
Biological Traits
Bullbos are known to fly into a rage when angered, threatened, or challenged (especially males). An enraged bullbo will charge, ram, and/or gore any perceived threat when in this state and will continue to attack until the threat is dead/destroyed or out of sight.
Ecology and Habitats
Bullbos thrive in expansive, flat lands (such as plains and deserts) where they can see threats from a distance away. Bullbos lack sure-footing on rocky and sloped terrain, and thus are rarely found in mountains.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Bullbos eat just about anything they come across, from plants to carrion. If no source of food is available, Bullbos will consume dirt to get their nutrients.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Bullbos are often found in small herds of 5-10 adults and 5-10 young. Of the adults, there is typically one alpha male. Alpha male bullbos are the primary protectors of the herd, fighting off threats and even sacrificing themselves to predators for the safety of the herd.
Domestication
Bullbos have been used as both riding and pack animals, although this is typically done by less civilized races (with Bulblins utilizing this the most). Because of Bullbos aggressive, unpredictable, and often destructive nature, more civilized races rarely use bullbos for anything, opting instead for more docile beasts, such as horses and mules for riding and carrying, respectively.
Uses, Products & Exploitation
Bullbos are sometimes hunted for food or game. Bullbo meat is said to be tougher and less flavorful than typical pig meat.
Average Intelligence
Bullbos are less intelligent than cows and horses, and even less so when enraged. It is said that enraged bullbo will run itself right off a cliff.
