Meta Info

This is the wiki of a homebrew D&D 5e campaign setting based off the Legend of Zelda video game franchise. It takes place in its own era and doesn't take place in any canonical, established timeline -- it's a "parallel universe," if you will. It utilizes locations, items, species and other elements from across various official timelines, and is meant to take place thousands of years after the events of whatever the last game in the franchise's timeline occurred.   The campaign setting might also be missing some well-known Zelda elements, and that is simply because I haven't played every Legend of Zelda game. I've played all the home console games, but not all the handheld console games. So there will be things missing, e.g. anything unique to the Oracle series.   Lastly, I've added my own spin on many things which might make them quite different than how they have been traditionally portrayed in the games. For instance, Kakariko isn't a quaint little village anymore. It is a massive capital city. It is my goal to present things that are familiar to Legend of Zelda fans and letting them revisit things they enjoyed about the series while simultaneously giving them something new. And it is all done with the goal of everyone having fun.

In-Game Intro

A long, long time ago the World was in an age of Chaos...
Decades of relative peace have been the way since the formation of the Council of Unity over 100 years ago. Prior to its formation, all the civilized races stood on shaky political grounds - a far fall from the strong alliances of eons past. War among any of the races was never off the table. Distrust and prejudice was rampant.   The Council of Unity (a committee of the leaders of the Gorons, Humans, Hylians, Kokiris, Koroks, Ritos, Sheikahs, and Zoras) was created to rebuild the peace between the races. In the decades since its inception, its members have reformed truces among their nations. Races can now trade and travel without fear. While full trust may still need to be earned, a courteous amount of trust is now granted among the civilized races. With one exception...   The Gerudos have been disallowed from joining the Council of Unity since its inception. Despite their repeated requests to join the Council, the Gerudos' checkered past has sown distrust among the other civilized races. This perpetual distrust has lasted over the centuries--including this most recent century--resulting in the rejections of the Gerudos' requests to join the Council.   However, some current Council members have recently initiated discussions of extending--for the first time--an invitation to the Gerudos. This has caused much debate from the populaces, as well as some disagreement (and heated arguments) within the Council. Talks and debates among the leaders have been going on for months. Now, representatives from the Gerudo Kingdom have been invited to attend the next meeting of the Council of Unity to plead their case. There has been some public outcry from many of the civilized races concerning the thought of Gerudos in the Council. Others have expressed worry that the quarrels among their leaders have been rapidly whittling away at the peace among the races.   What happens next, has yet to be written...
