Triforce

The Triforce is a legendary relic created by the Golden Goddesses. It is depicted as three golden crystalline or metallic triangles.
Each golden triangle is said to house the power of one of the Golden Goddesses: Power (Din), Wisdom (Nayru), and Courage (Farore).
A confusing aspect is that while a single triangle is called a "Triforce," when all three triangles together forming a whole unit, that whole unit is also called "Triforce." Distinctions can be made by calling the piece by what aspect it holds (i.e. "The Triforce of Power," "The Triforce of Wisdom," and "The Triforce of Courage"), and calling the sum of the three pieces simply "The Triforce."
According to legend, possessing one of the Triforces gives the possessor incredible magical powers and sometimes great longevity. Possessing all three pieces is said to make the possessor near god-like. Due to this, many have spent their entire lives searching for the Triforce in hopes of becoming a god among mortals.
In art and literature, the Triforce is depicted as three equilateral gold-colored triangles forming a single large equilateral triangle.  Sometimes, individual Triforces are colored to represent the goddess whose power it represents (Red for Din, Blue for Nayru, Green for Farore).
