The Basics of Anima
Excerpt from middle school text book.
Of all the commonly known, naturally occurring elements of the world, Anima holds the most mystique. It stands as one of the most important building blocks of life, yet one of the most poorly understood. Anima is inside all living things- it’s in the food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breath. Normally invisible to the naked eye; in large quantities Anima condenses into an extremely light, buoyant, aqua-colored, lambent liquid. This is observable in nature by surface geysers atop the networks of interconnected Anima streams and rivers, that snake under the surface of the planet. Magikenetics, and life itself as we know it, would not be possible in the absence of Anima.
The Anima Cycle
Much like water, Anima goes through a cyclical process from the ground to the atmosphere. Traveling sometimes for thousands of miles in one of the many channels of condensed Anima under the earth, always north or westward, it will eventually collect in large, subterranean, reservoir chambers. These are colloquially referred to as Soul Forges. As the chambers fill with Anima, they build up pressure until being forced through the surface. Spouting out from spectacular geysers, dispersing Anima into the atmosphere. From there, Anima particles will float back toward the surface, either returning into the ground or absorbed by living plants and animals. When living things expire, the Anima particles collected in their body radiate outward, returning to the earth. They will then flow back into their Anima-filled tunnels below, where the cycle begins anew.
