Adamantine

Evelina (a.k.a. Thienta Xikona)

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Adamantine's body is a wreck. She's physically very proficient, but most of her abilities come from deistic influence. Before she beat Thaxara in their duel her capabilities came directly from them. Since then, however, she is in control of her own power.

Body Features

Adamantine's skin tone is a cool brown, like all of the Ascali people. Due to the ritual that brought her to life, she has a deathly—ashen—complexion as well.

Special abilities

Adamantine can manipulate the world around her depending on how much of a connection she can make between it and death, in any form. For an example she can control the density of matter so as to climb the outside of the Court wall as she's made the logical connection that it gains her altitude form which she could fall and die.

Apparel & Accessories

Adamantine wears the traditional dress of a Court handmaiden, though she dons a black mask when presenting as Adamantine. She does also own tighter, lighter clothing for more intense assignments that require stealth.

Specialized Equipment

Adamantine uses whatever equipment is on hand at the time she needs it. Any weapon works in her hand so she's never considered a reason to chose favourites.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Both Adamantine and her mother died during her birthing as part of a ritual to create a stronger connection between the Ascali people and the deity of death, Thaxara. The link was forged the moment Thaxara rescinded Adamantine's death. She grew up with the name Thienta Xikona, the latter an indication that she bore the heightened relationship between the Ascali people and Death. She was raised as a caretaker of knowledge on all subjects regarding Thaxara's domain—from different burial rites over the two continents, to every conceivable method of murder. Her life and free will was held in the hands of Thaxara and, while she grew up under the deity's affectionate and loose-reined mentorship, she decided at the age of eight that she would no longer consent to someone else controlling her present and future. She challenged Thaxara for ownership of her own life. They could have refused and forced her to continue following their will, but they wouldn't. Adamantine did, however, have to offer something to give up if she lost, something of equal value to her. She claimed that the only thing that could stand at par with her freedom would be her life. Thaxara begged her not to challenge them as it would not only be the end of her life if she lost, but win or loose the whole world could suffer. She disregarded their warning and beat them in the following duel. Soon after, she left the Ascali islands and travelled the northern continent on her own. Less than two years later the Ascali people were decimated by the Order of Nixante. Adamantine returned to find her village burned and most of her culture destroyed. She stayed long enough to restore the scarce survivors to stable health. Afterward she travelled to Creidoria, where the Order of Nixante originated, and killed a great number of their organization before finally breaking down. The order never caught her, though they did learn who it was that gave them such a massive setback. She fled as far from Creidoria as she could, and ended up living on the streets in a kingdom on the southern continent, Tebrica. She befriended a group of three siblings, Zatashi, Mikayze, and Enkyridia under the name Evelina. She would sneak into the Tebriac Court and steal them food and supplies when survival became difficult. Eventually she struck up a friendship with the young 52nd Sovereign, when they were known as the Atheling and their mother was the 51st Sovereign. When the 52nd Sovereign took their position they extended an offer to Adamantine: live at the Court and work as their red hand—a spy and assassin for their personal use. She accepted under the conditions that she would be able to keep a secret identity and that Zatashi, Mikayze, and Enkyridia would be given positions in the Court guard. She kept the position for six years, posing as Evelina, the Sovereign's handmaiden, while not on assignment.

Gender Identity

Adamantine doesn't identify strongly enough with gender to contest her assigned gender of female.

Sexuality

So far Adamantine has only ever been attracted to women, and exceedingly few at that.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Adamantine rescued the Sovereign from the Order of Nixante during their occupation of the Tebriac Court.

Failures & Embarrassments

Adamantine decimated the Order of Nixante's battalion in relation for her own people's genocide. She considers it her lowest point.

Mental Trauma

Adamantine has PTSD due to the events of the Order of Nixante's occupation of the Tebriac Court. She emotionally self harms by forcing herself to confront the fears these experiences left her with.

Intellectual Characteristics

Adamantine is gifted in all domains surrounding death, from the easiest way to kill to the easiest way to goad someone else to murder. She naturally understands grief and healing as well, though she didn't take to the medicinal aspects of her training as well as the others.

Morality & Philosophy

Adamantine has a difficult relationship with morality. She values life highly but isn't very good at preserving it in practice, as she's so accustomed to death. She's killed so many people she has a hard time living with herself.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Adamantine is fuelled by loyalty. She has an inability to chose things for her own gain and latches onto a person or persons to dedicate her talents to. She comes to want what they desire and takes them on as her own goals. This is mostly a reaction to her disgust at the consequences of the few actions she took for her own gratification, such as challenging Thaxara for the ownership of her life and decimating the Order of Nixante's battalion in revenge for her people's genocide. One thing that drives her, however, is the need for privacy and to keep her identity and abilities secret from those whose judgement she cares about.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Adamantine is good with weaponry and bad with empathy.

Likes & Dislikes

Adamantine likes wild activities like climbing down the side of the Court for a swim every morning and dislikes waiting.

Virtues & Personality perks

Adamantine is very dedicated.

Vices & Personality flaws

Adamantine is impatient

Hygiene

Adamantine keeps the Sovereign's rooms in immaculate and organized cleanliness but leaves little time to clean her own rooms.

Social

Family Ties

Wife: Crescent

Religious Views

Adamantine isn't very reverent, as she knows one deity personally and was not only partially raised by them but also defeated them in combat. She does respect, however, the system that governs her own and everyone else's lives on the two continents.

Social Aptitude

Adamantine is adept at manipulating people n regards to their relationship with death with usually takes the form of threats but on occasion can manifest in extended commiseration or hope. When it comes to genuine interaction, however, she's fairly stunted and usually only forms good relations with people who find her social inability endearing.

Wealth & Financial state

The Sovereign keeps Adamantine supplied with anything she likes, though she doesn't have any money of her own, at her own choosing. She wouldn't have need of it. Should she need any she is adept at thievery.
