Adamantine challenged Thaxara to a duel to reclaim ownership over her life and future.

Adamantine challenged Thaxara to a duel. He agreed that if she won she would have the power over her abilities and movements that he currently owned. For the wager to take, however, she needed to offer up something of equal importance if she were to lose. She claimed that the only thing worth her freedom was her life. Thaxara begged her not to do it. Not only was the risk not worth it, if she severed her ownership from Thaxara the heightened strength of the power of the Ascali people over death wouldn't apply to her as well, on a condensed level.
