Laantala, the Primordial Serpent
Theorized to be one of the oldest deities of the Old World, the Primordial Serpent is surprisingly little-known. Their worship, even with Laantala having been chosen as part of the Lower Imperial Pantheon, is limited to a few temples, spread across the Old World and a small number of dedicated priests, who keep the traditions of their belief alive.
Divine Domains
Laantala's domains are said to be those of Change, Survival and Trickery.
Artifacts
No confirmed artifacts of the Primordial Serpent exist, though it is said that in ancient times those chosen by her received her scales or fangs as a mark of belonging.
Holy Books & Codes
Only a single piece of writing exists within the religion dedicated to Laantala. It supposedly conveys the words, which the Primordial Serpent once gave one of her believers during a time of great need. Said words have become the singular tenet of those dedicated to Laantala.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
The symbol of Laantala is a serpent coiling up a mountain.
Tenets of Faith
"When even fate seems against you, use all you have to survive. Bite and strangle and spit venom if you must, do not give in," is the only tenet for worship of the Primordial Serpent. Often only the second part is conveyed by those outside the orders worshipping Laantala, skewing the perception of outsiders towards seeing her faithful as very likely to rebel and work against any societal order.
The faithful themselves see the tenet as a call to arms against that which and those who would beat down others. Said call they rarely heed with weapons and open rebellion, much preferring less bloody solutions, but many are ready to fight, should it become necessary.
