Warder
Adventurers Guild: Classification Entry #1 - Warder
A Warder is the most integral part of an adventuring party. They posess the Warding Light, with which they can clear out the fog that normally would engulf their very being. They often do not excel in fending off beasts or collecting valuable data for the botanists. Their job is to swallow up the very essence of Ignotas and bring wardened light to the places once darkCareer
Career Progression
To become a Warden, one must achieve the epitome of mental fortitude. Absorbing the fog is one thing, but to be able to control its fierce attempts of breaking out of its prison is another. It must be known, that through a years worth of training, not only does the student need to learn a way of fighting, but mostly be put under constant mental training.
Fighting Mist
Once captured, the mist fights back by invading the mind of the one holding the Warders Light and bombarding it with visions of death, despair, not of themselves, but of those they hold most dear. Warders need to shield their conciousness from the invading smog, or else be turned into what we call the Swallowed. Beings that live in constant agony, being haunted by constant nightmares, while playing as one of those exact nightmare, haunting those they hold most dear. Seems familiar, doesn't it?Graduation
Only about one in twenty graduates keep a sliver of their personality all the way through the end. Most of them don't even remember the name of their mother. Once they graduate however, a prospering life awaits them, full of riches and a sense of accomplishment for liberating parts of the world for people to inhabit. To be considered a fully fledged Warder, as a rite of passage, they are drafted into newly forming teams, embarking on their first quest to lift the fog. Should they survive, they will officially be given the title of "Warder"Perception
Social Status
Warders are often regarded as heroes. For the general public, they are the reason why their civilization prospers, so entire parades are orchestrated in their name. Though only a few Warders receive the luxury to enjoy those parades because most of them don't perceive feelings at all.
Ward your family and friends! Sacrificing your light so the ones in their hearts shine brighter is heroic!
