Cult of the Forgotten and the Fall of Imea

A group of followers who believe demons and devils to be the future, this cult lay in wait for many years. They fervently believed that the world could only be saved by the arrival of the five archdevils and the Forgotten King who rules them. They were patient, slowly preying on the ambition of many high-ranking magi within Imea, infecting them with sedition and treason, and the promsie of power. Their plans came to friution with the coming of the Euridaye comet at the time of the Shattering, unleashing four of the five archdevils into Ilela. One was slain in the chaos, but three still remain and hold dominion over the land, taking over as leaders of the cults who now follow their masters diligently.
Before Cadrin fell to Aftokrátoras, the Elvish term for the entity ruling Cadrin, but not long after the plague began to ravage Tragor, the Euridaye Comet Festival was supposed to be a time of charity, as Dralta raised awareness for the plague in Tragor and attempted to send aid. Her concerns and attempts were brushed aside by the other archmagi, who encouraged festivities and feasting to celebrate the rare event.
It was during this festival that the cult saw their opportunity, and took advantage. Boosted by a mysterious wave of magic from the comet, the groups of magi attending the festival, and the opportunity to hide in plain sight, it was a massacre.
The blood spilled as they killed the innocent and unsuspecting fueled the ritual as the sky split into two and opened a gateway from the Underworld to the Material World, releasing armies of demons and devils with four archdevils. Luckily, one of them was slain, and the portal was closed before the Forgotten King was released.
The corrolation still unknown, within the course of three days, the entire Kingdom of Cadrin was set ablaze with dragon fire as Aftokrátoras brought an entire nation to heel.
Within hours of the Euridaye massacre, magic was sealed off from the continent. Doing so shut the door to the Underworld before the Forgotten King could escape, but the damage had already been done. The few who escaped made it to the wasteland, but the numbers of the dead were too many to count.
The cult lives on still, just as strong as ever. Their numbers continue to grow from slavers who prey along Ezeth's coast and from the cults that have started cross-breeding with the very demons they brought through to create faster and more powerful soldiers. They are locked in eternal conflict with Aftokrátoras' forces in the east, with the mirrored coastlines between the two nations being one wrought with blood.
