Shards

Shards are, quite simply, fragmented pieces of Ao himself. They fall to the earth containing great power, knowledge, and wisdom. Typically the shards manifest a form, consciousness and personality. They are in some ways like a child of Ao and because of that are the only beings who know of his existence but not his true nature.
Shards can take many forms, such as; An inanimate object, A sentient object, and a biological creature.
When in the form of a biological creature they are fertile but, for example: A shard in the form of a human will have normal human children (they will inherit the physical traits of the shard but none of the supernatural power).
Shards cannot detect other shards unless nearby (500M).
