Hvolsholar, The City of Old Bones

Originally home to many different mystics and shamans who converted the bones of the "elder ones", Hvolsholar is now a sizable port city near the northern coast of Yggdrasil. However, no matter how much this city thrives, it will always be tied to its sister city of Smededjerg for economic stability, since it remains disconnected from any major trading routes. Religion still plays a large role in people's lives here, and some locals see the secularization of myth as a shameful thing. 

A Sacred Union

While Jarl Calder is a beloved man, many believe his wife, Priestess Iona, is too involved in the political processes. It has always been an expectation of the Jarl in Hvolsholar to maintain religious observances, and to base their politics on a strong faith. But Calder and Iona's marriage, as beautiful as many believe it to be, has crossed a line previously uncrossed, leaving many to wonder if the shamanic ways of old are reclaiming control over the city.
