Ishima Peregrine
The 11th Life of Tongwu Ishima Peregrine (a.k.a. Shū (Shoe))
Ishima "Laoshu" Peregrine was born to Basil and Ginger Peregrine in the Pilgrims District of Wukomei City. They were free spirits from Hearthcrest College on a spiritual journey. After giving birth in a small clinic, the new parents were met by an entourage of Tongwu Path Monks who claimed they had arrived to greet the new life cycle of Tongwu. Ishima was given his name after the current reincarnation of Feyim who would later become his teacher. For 35 years Ishima trained in the spiritual ways and martial arts of the Tongwu Path monks in Songpai Monastery. Although he had many tutors and teachers, his main teacher was the reincarnation of Feyim and his namesake, Master Ishima. Master Ishima has spent the last 40 years in a vow of silence which made Ishima's instruction... difficult. He's not entirely sure about truly being the reincarnation of the famed Tongwu The Teacher, but he does believe in the good that the religion does. His true identity is hidden to all outside of the monastery until he completes his pilgrimage which he has set out on with his master. The two have spent the last year in Summersrest although Ishima grows impatient, waiting for the day his true adventure will start...

Mental Trauma
Ishima was separated from his parents at an early age as the gave him away to the monks. He has had the opportunity to visit them once a year, but it's not something he looks forward to. Mr. and Mrs. Peregrine have always been "Free Spirits" (see giant hippies) and often flit from spiritual trend to trend. Thankfully their nudest phase did not last as long as their also short lived flagellant devotion to Pelor.

Morality & Philosophy
Ishima is a devout follower of Tongwu Path philosophy and strives to bring love, kindness, and understanding wherever he can. However, he does not align with Celestia as he rejects absolutely aggression and retaliation that the Gods too often permit and advocate. Lawful Neutral / Neutral Good
Taboos
It is believed that in Lo'shar that stifling the smoke of a body being cremated will deny them reincarnation. It is the worst possible act one could do to another being. He also refuses to attack first in any skirmish and will only fight in self defense.
Ishima is a vegetarian by choice but will eat anything offered to him if he must but definitely does not prefer meat.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Ishima feels an urge to help others achieve a state of Harmony and Tranquility. Whether or not he is the reincarnation of a great spiritual leader or not, he truly believes in the power of his religion and it's ability to help believers and non-believers alike.
