Administrator
The Administrators are responsible for the day to day business of the towns across Merboitha. They are a position appointed by the Sire of a town. While larger cities with have a dedicated Administrator position, smaller towns often end up appointing a community member that is forced to do this job on top of their regular work for the day. As it is technically a government job the pay is often measly and the workload is incredibly great.
"If it weren't for the Administrators, nothing would get done in this country. I hope the gods bless 'em every day for the work they do!
Career
Other Benefits
The job of an Administrator is a busy and thankless endeavor. However, there are two notable perks of the job. The first is that, being a government run position their pay is guaranteed, regardless of how insubstantial is it. The second, and certainly the more beneficial, is that people in this position are highly respected by the common folk. As this is a job that few people actually aspire to do, those who end up with it are given great patience and respect, even to the point where thieves and bandits will leave an Administrator be, and if a group should be so calloused as to harm or steal from an administrator, the entire community will often track down and exact revenge upon the culprit with haste.
Perception
Purpose
Administrators run the day to day business of a city, town, or village. They also have been known to act as either councilmen in larger cities, or even as representitives of the people in smaller towns.
Social Status
Administrators are the lowest position in the political hierarchy of Merboitha, and as such are often looked down upon by nobles or people wit a higher seat of power. This is however offset by the fact that the commonfolk see them as the cogs and gears that keep the towns, provinces, and the entire country moving forward.
History
The position of the Administrator was originally a position held in the province of Gathamia before the uniting of Merboitha just beforre the turning of the First Age that was largly responsible for keeping track of the Healthcare system in their fledgling country.
Seeing this administrative position as a beneficial form of government for the larger country after the signing of The Kingship, and a way to filter the large amount of responsibilities involved in running a Kingdom to a greater number of people the First King of Merboitha implemented the Gathimian Administration system across the whole country in the year 1303, following the turning of the First Age.
