The mighty gryphon is a fierce and majestic mount favoured by many famous adventurers. While nobles may prefer the grace of a pegasus, the fearsome gryphon is capable of both defending and providing for itself making it an obvious choice for adventuring in the wild. As with all flying mounts however, an owner must always remember to NEVER fly them over the The Heartstone Mountains as the wyverns present in those peaks will make short work of anything in their territory!

    Keen Sight The gryphon has Advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.
    Tactical Assessment A number of times per day equal to the gryphon's CR, it can choose to switch its initiative with the creature who has the lowest initiative roll. If it does so its next attack action will be an automatic hit (although the player may still roll for critical hits).
    Weak Spot A number of times per day equal to the gryphon's CR, using a Bonus Action, the gryphon can concentrate on a single target, looking for the best place to strike. The first attack the gryphon makes on that target each turn takes an extra 1d6 1d6 damage of the attack's type and the gryphon can't take opportunity attacks from that creature. If the target the gryphon is concentrating on dies or becomes unconcious you can use a Bonus Action on your next turn to begin concrentrating on another creature without counting towards your total daily uses.

    Multiattack The gryphon makes two attacks: one with its Beak and one with its Claws.

    Beak Melee Weapon Attack: +6 1d20+6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1d8+4 piercing damage.
    Claws Melee Weapon Attack: +6 1d20+6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 2d6+4 slashing damage.

    Power Generation

    Meat - The gryphon requires 20lbs. of fresh meat a day or 40lbs of hard tack in order to travel. These amounts are halved if the gryphon is stabled. A gryphon is able to hunt for its food without its rider. It takes the gryphon 2 hours to gather and eat its food.

    Communication Tools & Systems

    Whistle - Each gryphon is trained to be called by its own unique brass whistle. The range of the whistle is 10km and it will take the gryphon some time to return to its owner. Gryphons travelling in a pack have been known to distinguish the whistles that call their pack mates and respond to those as well.
