the Duke of Cadanval, Mercer Dunwin, declares his rebellion against the king on the final night of the Festival of the Bright

Over the course of the Rebellion Cadanval would hold back against the King's soliders, even taking the fight to them, however progress was slow, and it seemed they may soon begin to lose in the war, when Av'Anloch declared for the rebellion and sent troops to aid them. Ambushing the Kings forces during the battle of Rork, and crushing them. a few weeks later the city of Ruxintin had its own rebellion, outing the current Duke Dannad Alton and installing a Tiefling Duke to the throne who declared for the rebellion, bringing GreenFall hold into the fight against the king, and finally the Dukedom of Entolon was turned by a populist uprising.   The forces of the 3 Slymornian Dukedoms the Kingdom of Av'Anloch began a two month siege of the capital city of Faroe. which ended with the royal family's deaths. and King Mercer Dunwin taking the throne.
