Church of Moradin

The following that taught Danforth Strongforge when he was younger. This church operates primarily out of a monastery and college to the north of Ennisport. Lately the followers have come into contact with the Children of Moradin .

Structure

This order of Moradin is led by a Father, who is equal to many other Fathers among the faith.

Mythology & Lore

Moradin , as one of, if notthefirst of the dwarves, came into being amidst chaos and strife. Moradin saw the chaos of the world, the helplessness of wild emotions, magic, and life-without-form, and took to crafting vessels through which the chaos could be channeled. It was in this way, through the heat of the forge and the efforts of one dwarf, that the Iron-hearts were born. Moradin looked upon his creation and saw that, despite the vessel, the chaos of life-without-form would not stay contained. The iron-hearts would attempt to communicate, or move, and find themselves incapable. They needed to be softer. So Moradin stripped layers off of the iron-hearts, found clay-of-providence (Common translation), and molded new bodies over the iron-hearts. Thus dwarves were born.

Divine Origins

The Church of Moradin began following stories of Moradin 's feats when the world was young. Many wished to know about the dwarf hero who seemed to be wrapped up in such great adventures and foundations of creation, and so the study of Moradin came to be.

Worship

Regular practice of the faith deigns study into the faith--namely reading from the Book of Moradin.

Priesthood

Priests of Moradin are a role that one studies to become through the college. Their ranks regularly undergo service pilgrimages.

Sects

The Children of Moradin differ from the main faith in that they approach spreading of the word with near zealous enthusiasm. They suggest that there will be a new era of the gods in the near future, and that mortals must prepare for that era's arrival.
