Architecture

The most prominent house in the harbour district. The entire house is constructed with red bricks. Originally designed to be the customs house.

History

The customs house was built a hundred years before the expansion of the harbour. And it served as a landmark with its red bricks visible even before the boats had cleared the harbour. When the city started the expansion of the harbour the custom master realised that the placement of the house was too far away from where it needed to be, and plans for a new customs house was made. A suitable location was found, and the construction started.
A group of entrepreneurs made an offer for the old brick house and the rest is history as they say...
