After Alan's wish in 54 3E, it is possible to control the brooch's time traveling ability at will.

History

Around 53 3E, Bryvv stole this brooch when escaping from the Drow. He gave it to Aramel, who then disappeared.
In 54 3E after defeating Malabor, the Group of Elves that Bryvv was traveling with found another one in his basement.
Then, at Belladonna's Final Ball, the group met Alan, who was also wearing one. Damek the Bastard used his Grim Psychometry ability on it and learned that they were all the same brooch traveling through time.
