Crown Prince

Crown prince of the Empire. Only child of Ellwyn II and Thesellia. Currently in the Colonies with the Legion stationed there.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Physically fit, but not overly muscular, Malwyn favors agility and tactics over brute strength. His upbringing stressed maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including physical training and sparing with the Imperial guards.

Body Features

He maintains his short brown hair well kept and his green eyes are set deep under his brow.  While not considered particularly handsome, his boyish looks have recently grown more rugged, echoing the looks of his father.  His limbs still do not openly show their strength, still relatively thin and wiry.  Still, his speed and quickness more than make up for any small lack of raw power.

Facial Features

Unlike his father, Malwyn keeps himself clean shaven, wearing neither beard or mustache that have been commonly worn by the men of Imperial house.  This style also further draws notice to his strong cheekbones and square set jawline.

Specialized Equipment

Malwyn has studied extensively with the rapier, including many dueling styles with main guache, buckler or cape in the off hand.  Additionally, the prince has been known to use magical boots of leaping to increase his mobility during combat, further accentuating his fluid style of combat.

Personal history

As the first born of the Imperial couple, he was granted the title of Crown Prince upon his birth and stands as first in line of succession. He has no other siblings and as such has led a fairly protected life until his 18th birthday when he joined the Imperial Army.

Education

He spent the early years of his life in the protection of the Imperial Compound within Illyria under the guidance of his personal Governess, Lady Mysia. His tutoring included all of the skills and protocols that would be required as he prepared to assume the public duties of the Crown Prince and his eventual ascension to the Imperial Throne. While loved by his parent, he spent little time with them as they were busy ruling the Empire. Other children of the Imperial court were brought into the household to provide companions for the young Prince to play with and several of them remain his closest friends still.
As he reached his 9th birthday, the decision to enroll the Prince in the Imperial Academy to broaden his world view and expose him to the teachings and citizens of the Empire. While there, he found himself particularly interested in history and mathematics, particularly statistics related to the population and economies of the Empire and neighboring kingdoms.
As her reached his teens, he attracted the attention of many of the young ladies at the Academy, some attracted to the allure of the being associated with the Prince and others looking to raise the standing of their houses with closer ties to the Imperial Household. Still, his close friends protected him from the worst of this attention, and helped to his through the difficult social trials that youth presented to the somewhat naïve young Prince.
The Crown Prince, though, often attended various social events held either at the school or at the Palace itself. It was at one of these events held at the Palace that he first met Lady Mernadise, a visiting noble from the Erian a member of House Domman. In the company of her father, she was attending to him when she was first introduced to the young Prince as the entourage from Erian were introduced to the Emperor, the Empress and their heir. The Prince found himself smitten with the grace and smile of the quiet elf and spent much of the night dancing with her to the amusement to both of their parents and the chagrin of many of the other young ladies in attendance. While there were immediate rumors about the pair after this public meeting, not much is known about the current state of this pair.

Employment

After graduation from the Academy, Malwyn I joined the Imperial Army as is customary for members of the Imperial Family. While they do serve in the standard Legions along side others, the imperial family usually is assigned to the Crown Legion and remains in or near the Capitol. As a noble, he entered the military as a commissioned officer, receiving the rank of Officer Cadet while in training for six months as a member of the Arcana Legion. After his initial training, he returned to the Capitol to join the Crown Legion as a Second Lieutenant.
Recently, though, the Crown Legion was assigned to move to protect the Colonies and the Crown Prince travelled with the unit as well. This is the first time the Crown Prince has left the mainland of the Empire and the first time that a member of the Imperial House in direct line of succession has visited the overseas colonies. While there is some concern that the Prince would be in some danger in this assignment, but with the presence of almost three Legions reinforcing the Colonies, the risk was deemed acceptable.

Known Languages

The Prince speaks fluent Imperial Common and has passing understanding of Elven which he had begun studying in the last several years.  Some suggest that this is due to his interest in Lady Mernadise of Erian.
