High Council of Arcana

The High Council of Arcana is the chief body for overseeing the lawful use and study of magic within Balemont. It's symbol is a silver shield with a large arcane orb in the center.

Structure

The High Council of Arcana is hierarchical in structure and regional in location though its authoritative body is based in the capital, Highbale. The High Council is made up of the following ranks and titles with descending authority and responsibility.

2. Regional Councilor
3. Arcane Magistrate
4. Arcane Councilor
5. Acolyte

Culture

The High Council of Arcana believes in the legal and safe study and use of magic. Most of its members see magic as both a divine gift but also, in the wrong hands, a malevolent curse and seek to limit the prevalence of the latter in Balemont.

Public Agenda

The High Council of Arcana functions as both a body of scholarly thought on magic but is also empowered with the authority to investigate and punish those responsible for illegal use of magic or the study and practice of illegal forms of magic.
