First day of the Gold Prompts, and we already have a ton of entries for them! The HQ prompt seem especially popular, and it's been really cool to read some of the prompts and see what people are cooking up. :D

Book Recommendation

The Lobotomist is the story of Walter Freeman, and his bid to be remembered in history by pushing the Lobotomy as a cure-all for anything that might ail ya. He's a ridiculous character, if he wasn't so cruel it'd be funny, and the entire thing is just a weird journey through a particularly dark time in medical history. Excellent for all sort of world building and novel writing reason, and to remember the strides we've made since "maybe cut out some of the brain might help perhaps maybs?" days.

And speaking of Medicine, here's a video about the always amazing James Randi on homeopathy, quackery, and fraudlent medicine from the perspective of a magician.

As a bonus, his foundation has an entire series talking about scienice vs. belief when it comes to medicine.
