Gilgamesh Vargimish Character in Imperial Legacy: Pomorveth | World Anvil

Gilgamesh Vargimish (Γκιλγκαμές Βαργκίμις)

Gilgamesh Vargimish

Gilgamesh Vargimish was born on Juno 13, 1501, in Constantinople, the largest city and the capital of the Byzantine Empire. At the age of 16, on Juno 10, 1517, he joined the Byzantine army to serve his country and fight for his people. He proved himself to be a brave and skilled soldier, but his loyalty was tested in 1519 when he defected from the Byzantine army on Maia 14th to join the Promanian Military. Gilgamesh hid his Byzantine service for the first few years in Promania where he served from Maia 22nd, 1521, until 1538. During his tenure, he was promoted to several positions of authority, and he began training new recruits and providing advice on war strategy. Gilgamesh was also responsible for maintaining peace during times of peace, earning him the respect of his comrades in arms and the citizens he protected as a guard.   Gilgamesh fell in love with a woman named Frieda Anna Engel and had three children between the years 1539 and 1548. Their children were Alexios Manuel Vargimish, Aurilia Jacinta Vargimish, and Eirene Fabia Vargimish. Alexios was the eldest of the three, and he was 18 years old when his father died. Aurilia was 14 years old, and Eirene was only 11 when Gilgamesh passed away.   Gilgamesh's dedication to serving his country never wavered, and he volunteered for active service again in 1552. He was a highly respected leader among his men and was often called upon to provide advice on strategic planning. Gilgamesh's bravery and dedication to his country made him an asset to the Promanian Military.   Unfortunately, Gilgamesh's second term of active service did not end well. He died in a battle against the English in Kent, England. He sustained three arrow wounds in his chest, two sword cuts in his stomach, and succumbed to disease on Janus 15th, 1559. His death was a significant loss for the Promanian Military, and his tremendous contributions to his country were honored by his peers.   Gilgamesh Vargimish will always be remembered as a brave, dedicated, and loyal soldier who served his country with pride. His Byzantine heritage was evident in his hair and eyes, which were a dark brown, almost black, and emerald green, respectively. Even though he was born in Constantinople, his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him and in the annals of the Promanian Military.
