The Decimation
As the humans of Ascus spread through the Omphalos continent, pushing the native humans and elves aside, tension rose to a head during a series of battles in the Fytulk Timberlands. These battles culminated in a magical cataclysm referred to as The Decimation.
History is unclear about what happened or how, but the vast majority of elves disappeared during the Decimation, as did the large population centers. The few elves that remained, called Walkers were left homeless, wandering the woods looking for their homeland. Some, those of the Liakos line, left Ascus via boat and ended up in Melera, founding what would eventually become Shasem. Others left for the Feywild, Shadowfell, and other planes.
