Valris

A family of tieflings living in Kinetas. Valris, his wife Bliss, and their two sons Arkrus and Morthus.
In Session0110, Valris and his family and a dozen more were taken to Bellbury by Seirixori.
"He's not from here... had some trouble down south and... well you've seen how he... he picked a fight, some guards heard the commotion. He was nearly killed," she speaks louder and directly at him as she tosses another rag in his direction, "because he doesn't know when to keep his damn mouth shut." She sort of huffs and straightens herself out again.

Physical Description

Body Features

Deep red in color, Valris has ram's horns that begin just over his eyes and curl back and around.
Bliss has light brownish sin and black hair with short sharp horns at the crown of her head. If she's hooded and wears a skirt that can obscure her thick tail, she can pass for human.
Arkrus is a few shades lighter than his father's red and has twisty horns.
Morthus is also a lighter shade of red with little nubs of horns growing in.

Personal history

Valris was born and raised in Ascus, but had trouble finding and keeping work. He moved every couple years, finding a place in Isonsall for a while where he met and married Bliss. They had a child, Arkrus, there in Isonsall, but shortly after that, there was an incident with a few guards. While he was constantly being harassed by Ascan guards, this time he was assaulted by them, beaten to an inch of his life. After this, he took his family and they headed north. After a few months in Castin, they continued to Kinetas where they found a small community of tieflings who helped them get on their feet. They had a second child, Morthus, in Kinetas. A year ago, or so, he was drunk and a fight broke out at the tavern he was in. When guards came to break it up, he started shouting at them and posturing aggressively. When they didn't back down, he started throwing punches and the guards retaliated. They fought him enough to subdue him and he was released the next day, sober.

Education

None of them have a formal education. Bliss has been teaching Arkrus how to change the appearance of his eyes with Thaumaturgy.

Employment

Valris works as unskilled labor, mostly carrying loads for delivery. Bliss raises the boys and helps where she can doing piecemeal domestic work.

Mental Trauma

Valris finds it difficult to be present in the moment and is jumpy and sullen, unless he's drinking. Drunk, he's sociable, though paranoid about guards, and fails to recognize that he's loud and aggressive sounding.

Arkrus nods but then gets shy again and kind of whispers, "I like goats 'cause they have horns too."
The boy picks up his rocks and says, "Do you want to play with me?" He puts one rock in Gunnloda's hand and says, "This one is the daddy goat. He's big and tough and scares the wolves away." And he puts another in Seir's hand. "This one's the mommy goat. She shows the baby goats- they're called kids!- where to go and what to do." And the two little rocks, he has in each hand. "And these are the kids. They bounce around everywhere, but when they fall down, they don't get hurt. They just get up and bounce bounce bounce."
