Machinist Clan

The Machinists are an ancient clan of technomancers and scholars following a legacy inherited from the science of Precursor engineers and mechanics. Their mission was to seek out and preserve technological relics and scientific records and keep them safely stored in their Precursor Vault underneath Castle Elgin. The core of the Machinist Clan was destroyed along with the castle during a Phoenix Order attack. In order to hide their vault from the greed of ignorant men, the Machinists posed as a fanatic band of Technoclasts. The brothers of the clan would stage phony book burnings and other elaborate public rituals in which they destroyed supposed Precursor machines. Even though the true nature of the Machinists is widely known to the players of the campaign, the world at large still believes their cover story. In fact, the surviving Machinist chapterhouses are run solely by technoclast decoys.
