Carved into a stone wall on the fourth layer of the Beasts Region is Koliy's Kavern. Its medieval-style looks and quaint and welcoming aura as well as the multitude of snacks, drinks and entertainment available make it the most popular and beloved tavern in the Beasts Region.

You feel bored, so you decide to go to the bar for a drink. You approach the large wooden door fixed to the cave wall and put your hand on it as you look at the carved sign above it:

History

Koliy

Ever since he was young, Koliy had always noticed that the Beasts around him were almost perpetually in a bad mood, often lashing out at the smallest annoyances. At one point, he noticed a Beast with pale yellow feathers and became curious as he had never seen anyone sport this particular colour on their body, so he went over to her to ask. The Avian Beast did not want to be pestered so she shooed him away, but he persisted, asking her how she had feathers of that colour. Eventually, she got sick of the child's probing and screeched at him to leave and then, for emphasis, slashed his face with her sharp claws. The attack blinded the young Koliy in one eye and significantly worsened the vision in the other eye. He had to wear thick glasses to properly see past his nose.

Later in his life, Koliy finished school, became a craftsdemon and blacksmith and got married.

The Beginnings of the Bar

One day, he opened a small bar where his coworkers could relax and drink a cold one during breaks. He would serve the drinks, consisting of beers and ales while his wife would make snacks. At first, it was just five to seven visitors. The first visitors soon became regulars and brought their friends over. The number increased to ten. Then fifteen. Koliy, seeing the growing number of guests, saw a business opportunity, so he sought out an empty section of a cave wall and hired some buddies to dig out a large section of it. The empty section, the main bar, was polished, cleaned and furnished with everything a bar would need. Afterwards, another room was dug out behind it. This one would be the kitchen. It was also tidied and furnished. Koliy then purchased lots of jukeboxes, vinyl records and a piano so that there would be music playing.

The construction took several months and most of Koliy's salary but it all paid off. The tavern turned out amazing and earned many loyal customers.

The Vibes

You step in and are immediately hit with the smell of metal shavings and dust emanating from the chattering guests. But it's not just that. A strong mixture of booze and fried meat also stings the air and your nose. There's also some sweet music playing from the jukeboxes. Wait...is that...jazz.. from the human realm? you wonder. You pick a table closest to a jukebox and plop down on the stool.

Any new visitor is quickly enticed by the scent of delicious booze and mouth-watering fried meat and the soothing music guarantees they set their behind on a seat. They can then choose from a multitude of drinks and snacks from a menu handed to them by the owner's lovely, though foul-mouthed, wife. While waiting for their order, a guest can idly watch the others engage in various activities like arm wrestling (classic), drinking contests, cards and poker; you can join in if you want but keep in mind: make a mess or damage any furniture and Koliy's wife will give you a good whacking with her tail and force you to clean up or pay for the damages.

The Tavern also hosts decennial parties to celebrate its success, so be sure to bring some friends along and don't miss the highlight: Koliy and his wife boogying it down on the floor!

You munch on your dried meat kebab and sip the beer as you peruse the establishment. The pleasant lighting filling the room, the calming music sailing through the air, the entertaining guests having a good time, the lovable owner making someone laugh, his strong wife dealing with a troublemaker...
Such a nice place...I'll be sure to come back another day. You take another sip.
