Mayor's Manor
The Hydro Heads and those of the Farmer's District fear this building, the seat of power in Greene Horne. It wasn't always that way however. The Mayor's Manor was once a place of community.
Purpose / Function
The house originally was a place for the entire town to sleep. Overtime, it turned into a house of commerce, for both terrestrial and extraterrestrial business, and the living space for The Mayor.
Alterations
The middle back window has been blacked out in some way. To the general populace, it is unknown why.
Architecture
The overall footprint of this two floor structure could be called a mixture between a McMansion and an Italianate Mansion. The outside wall at the front of the structure seem to slope and bulge, much like a human fat roll resting atop a table. The bulge comes to a stop where the top of the porch begins.
The porch runs the full length of the structure, held up by sturdy wooden beams. 3 steps lead up from the ground to the porch.
The back wall is covered in vines wrapped around trellises, parted only by the two windows on the bottom floor and the three windows on the top floor.
Defenses
The only outward defense the building has is the treaty that keeps prying eyes away from it and keeps the Hydro Head Hunters within shouting distance.
Inside, a pair of spearmen on loan from the local slaver tribes stand guard either in the front room, where the Mayor does paperwork at his desk, or guard him when he's in the foyer behind it tending to merchandise or relaxing.
History
The Mayor's Manor stands at the center of Greene Horne, the first building finished in the tiny town. At first, it was the main place for the town to sleep while it was being built. As buildings were completed and families moved out, it became a house of commerce and in turn, the Mayor's house.
In the present, the house is where commerce continued to happen for those outside the town, both terrestrial and extraterrestrial. Slavers of all kinds, as well as those seeking supplies and trades, enter this house, sometimes with cargo they do not leave with.
Tourism
Only slavers visit this place with any sense of tourism, eager to find and sell their 'cargo'.
City folk ignore what's going on with the house, while the Farmers do everything they can to avoid it.
Hydro Heads want to investigate the building, but are held at bay by their Leader through the treaty.
