The Shadow Lands
Off within the northern reaches of Interitus, shadowed by the mountains of dread, there sits a small pocket of life. Known to the locals as The Shadow Lands, this pocket of civilization is a home to those exiled from homes of their own. The outcasts, the broken, the lost, a home offered to them when none else would care for them.
The Shadow Lands are home to the darkest of creatures, hiding away from the light. Creatures that, should they be allowed to roam free, would spell the end of mankind. Luckily, the god-emperor of the shadowlands keeps these beings imprisoned, as a courtesy to the rest of the world.
Beyond this, The Shadow Lands are an ecosystem all their own. Whilst plant-life does not grow, cannibalistic people, monsters and animals alike all take up dominion within this land. It is an unhealthy place, the very ground itself oozing up a strange purple fog, that once inhaled offers visions of the past, and future both, at the cost of one's sanity...
Geography
Spreading out thousands of miles of dead and darkened trees, The Shadow Lands represent what happens when the earth is no longer cared for, when life cannot support life, and only death is left. But just like the rest of Interitus, the world moves on, she adapts and changes. Overlooked by the "mountains of dread", this forest like area is cloaked in a shadow-like state of darkness, uninhabitable except for the darkest and broken.
Fauna & Flora
Dead and blackened trees. Twisted and broken animals that would rather feast upon one another than interact with anyone, mortal or otherwise.
Natural Resources
The darkened earth within The Shadow Lands is highly coveted within the black market of The Capital, a cataylst in many a dark and twisted spell.
