The history of this alien world is defined by rediscovery, resurfacing of inherent human nature, and questions of liberty, culture and identity, which has seemingly not changed at all since leaving Earth

The Great Arrival

The arrival of humanity on Kepler 77c should have been the salvation of the species. But a number of factors made it quite the opposite. After centuries of interstellar travel, society had fundementally shifted. To make matters worse, as humanity began settling the planet, it quickly became apparent that Earth-borne life was acting as an unstoppable invasive species, eradicating local flora and fauna at an alarming rate. The entire biosphere would collapse within a few decades.

The Birthright Wars

1 AGL 100 AGL

With the tumultuous arrival of the new cultures, those who called themselves the English, the French, the Scandinavians, and countless others, societal differences led to brutal struggles for dominance and for freedom. While the new cultures lost most of their technology, with most of it having broken down and the knowledge to repair it having been lost by the time they reached Kepler 77, they still had a considerable advantage when it came to technical expertise and ingenuity, which led to both scientific advancement as well as much more devastating wars. Not much is known about these dark times, but what is known is that millions died in the struggles.

In a single day, the entire world is turned on its head. What began with spectacular meteor showers across the planet, quickly turns into an event of such societal upheaval and magnitude that the world would never be the same. The second flotilla of vessels sent to colonise Kepler 77, the Thesean Flotilla, arrives at the planet as a rag-tag group of ships barely able to function. Disembarking en masse in desperation, millions of their inhabitants descend upon the planet. They bring with them foreign, strange technology and beliefs and histories that contradict everything that has been established in the cultures across the planet. The world would never be the same.
