The Guardinal Companions
For more information on all Lesser Idols, see: Lesser Idols
The agathions have no surviving records of their origins. They have protected Elysium for the duration of the plane’s recorded history. For as long as there have been agathions, there has been the Celestial Lion and his five companions, exemplars and epitomes of their respective kind. In contrast to the mostly unchanging ranks of the archons, the members of the Companions come and go, assuming office when they are strong enough and abdicating when they can no longer handle the position. Talisid, the current Celestial Lion, has held the position for longer than usual and few can even recall the name of the last one to hold his post. His five companions, however, have all recently ascended to their current positions.
A patron of the arcane arts, Bharrai, the Great Bear, is the representative of the ursinal agathions and a teacher of magic. She is known to tutor wizards within her realm of Elysium with all the care of a mother.
Talisid's closest friend among the Guardinal Companions is Karash, the Stalker. Serving as the paragon of the lupinal agathions, he treasures the freedom of the wilderness and can often be found prowling with his pack in the vibrant woods of Elysium.
Manath, the Horned Duke, is the newest of the Guardinal Companions, and thus has much to prove, but shows no distress because of it. The duke of the cervidal agathions, Manath is known to be rather jovial in his dealings, speaking with a dry wit and humor on his tongue.
Connoisseur of the fine arts, Sathia, the Sky Duchess, is often seen as a muse to the artistic disciplines. While representing the avoral agathions, she is known to take special interest in particularly talented sculptors and painters, sometimes striking them with brilliance during their ruts.
Talisid, the Celestial Lion, has been the unofficial leader of the Guardinal Companions for several millenia. As the most powerful of the leonal agathions, he conducts himself with all the regality of a prince, but with none of the ego that aristocracy often develops.
Serving the horse-like equinal agathions of Elysium's wide open plains is Vhara, the Duchess of the Fields. Embodying her people, she is hardy and fleet-of-foot, some would even say intimidating, but behind this image lies a kind soul whose emotions run strongly for those who suffer.
