Lesser Idols
For more information on all deities, see: Deities
The Lesser Idols are entities of the planes with powers akin to the gods, but either not strong or bold enough to challenge them. They come from all corners and compasses of the spheres, some paying homage to the gods in service, and others seeking to bring their creations to ruin.

Archdevils
The position of Archdevils in the hierarchy of Baator is clear: Archdevils are the most powerful and are, therefore, on top. The most powerful of the Archdevils are the Archdukes, also called the Lords of the Nine. Other Archdevils are dukes, ruling portions of a layer, generals, or bureaucrats of various sorts. While not listed here given his status as a Betrayer Deity, Asmodeus is also considered an Archdevil, specifically the Archdevil of the Ninth.Arch-Fey
No beings rule the chaotic and changeable plane known as Faerûn, the home of the fey, but its most powerful residents are the mighty beings known as the Arch-Fey, sometimes known as the Fey-Lords or the Shapers. They each pursue their own mysterious goals, and have little interest in the doings of lesser creatures. All command great respect or fear from the other inhabitants of that strange realm, and as demigods can grant spells to their worshipers. The Court of Stars
The magical and mysterious heart of the azata lies in the Court of Stars, where the beautiful Queen Morwel reigns over her people. Morwel is sometimes called the Faerie Queen, the Lady of the Lake, or the Lady of Stars; a demipower in her own right, and surrounded by the brightest and most gracious of the azata. The Court moves from place to place throughout Arborea, existing only where night falls over the realm. The Court of Stars isn’t really the government of the azata as much as it is the heart or spirit of the race.Demon Lords
The Demon Lords, also known as the Abyssal Lords, are Archfiends who gained great power and established a position of preeminence among demonkind. Over millennia, these demons have amassed tremendous power and authority over their domain.Elemental Lords
An Elemental Lord is a divine being birthed from, and made of the substance of, one of the four Major Elemental Planes. As demigods, they have worshipers amongst creatures of their element. For most of history, there was no balance between good and evil among the Elemental Lords (unlike elsewhere in the Great Beyond), as the evil Elemental Lords defeated and sealed away their good rivals long ago. The evil Elemental Lords seem to embody the worst qualities of fire, water, wind, and earth, and are fickle and dangerous.Empyreal Lords
The Empyreal Lords are the seven celestial paragons that rule Celestia and the celestial archons that live there. These archon paragons are also called tome archons. The Four Horsemen
The Four Horsemen, the Archdaemons, the End Bringers, are powerful and unique daemons having attained the power of demigods: they rule Gehenna, and have hordes of daemons in their service. Each of the Four Horsemen represents one of four ideals: War, Pestilence, Famine, and Death. The actual position of being a Horseman is a coveted title and is often fought for by the greatest members of daemonkind. Each Horseman has their own legion of servitor daemons known as deacons or destroyers.Groetus
Ancient beyond mortal reckoning, Groetus is an entity who cannot be easily understood. It hangs in the sky above Pharasma, a skull-faced moon constantly observing the passage of the souls below. Events can cause it to draw ominously closer to Illid's Spire, or to retreat back to a safer distance, with little obvious rhyme or reason for these actions. It evinces little regard for anything but its singular aim: the dissolution of the universe. The Guardinal Companions
The agathions have no surviving records of their origins. They have protected Elysium for the duration of the plane’s recorded history. For as long as there have been agathions, there has been the Celestial Lion and his five companions, exemplars and epitomes of their respective kind. In contrast to the mostly unchanging ranks of the archons, the members of the Companions come and go, assuming office when they are strong enough and abdicating when they can no longer handle the position. Talisid, the current Celestial Lion, has held the position for longer than usual and few can even recall the name of the last one to hold his post. His five companions, however, have all recently ascended to their current positions. The Hands of Erathis
Within Erathis' realm of Nirvana, the goddess of law is guided by two beings; the Hands of Erathis. Two entities of pure lawful abidance, they act as her advisors, governors, and confidants in keeping order in both mortal civilization and the great city of Axiom.Protean Lords
A Protean Lord is the most powerful type of protean, possessing powers on the level of those of a Demon Lord. Most Protean Lords shift shapes wildly and frequently, so none know their true form. They spend their time reshaping and destroying vast realms within Limbo, watching the gods, and furthering the downfall of the powers of law. That is to say, they did all of these things, before almost all of them were destroyed. The only Protean Lord who remains of the original four is Ssila'meshnik, the Colorless Lord.Table of Contents
