The largest race of the nation builders the Giants live in nation east of the Elves called the Imperium of Giants. The Imperium is split into clans, when the current imperator dies the giants select an individual from each clan to compete, the victor of which become the new imperator. There are many clans of many sizes, larger clans have a higher chance of succeeding since they will train individuals for the singular goal of competing. This does not mean that a talented individual from a smaller clan has not become imperator. People of the same clan tend to stay together, but it is not uncommon for people of different clans of work together. The Imperium has had many wars with the Hierocracy over time as they attempt to grow north. The last war ended badly for the Hierocracy as the Imperium exchanged a section of forested land to the Brotherhood in exchange for weapons technology, giving them a significant edge. Both sides ready for war wanting to reclaim land and lost honor.
