Bedalk

Bedalk is the name of the leader of Tashan, it was created by Pasha so that other people could have the oportunity of rule Tashan after testing their skills versus Pasha's skills.

Only one

Bedalk is a title that only one person at a time can have it. It is otorgated to the person that defeats the actual bedalk in a series of test. The bedalk rules Tashan with the help of the original families of Tashan (aka the families that help Pasha build Tashan).

The tests

For someone that wants to be bedalk, they must challenge the actual bedalk and then be better than the actual bedalk in most of the tests. If both win the same amount of tests, the winner will be decided by the council of the original families. The amount of tests and what they are are being a secret only known by the actual bedalk and their guards, the Xezid. To avoid the newer bedalk to change the tests, the actual bedalk obtains a tattoo that summons a written book with the list of the tests; the guard from the Xezid that is most trusted by the bedalk obtains the tattoo as well. This summoned book is enchanted so that its contents cannot be changed.
The original families do not learn about these tests but only the amount of tests won by each concursant. They shall ask the contestants questions to see which contestant is more fit to be the new bedalk.
The tests are supposed to test all abilities needed to govern, fight, read people, magic abilities, etc, so that the bedalk is versatile in many camps and will not make the town be worse.

Secrecy

Such secrecy about the tests is so that aspirants to bedalk cannot train to improve their actuation in the tests and the original families do not know the tests so they have an opportunity to challenge the bedalk.

The winner

If the winner is the challenger rather than the actual bedalk, it would not obtain the title immediately. The actual bedalk will teach the winner as much as they can in the following month. Then a ceremony is celebrated in private with the original families and the bedalk, to pass the title to the new bedalk.
