Canaan
(a.k.a. Viper)
Canaan is a Qadhaadh naga and a Black Dagger of Ger Hold. His father was a Nathair and his mother human. His father was a raider in the Snake War and raped his mother. His mother, not wanting the child, gave the infant over to the monster hunting guild, The Black Daggers. Canaan was raised to be a fighter and a slayer. Being a naga he is able to hunt in a way most Daggers can not, making him useful. Over his 81 years of life he has been tested many a time. Each of his scars tells a story: The scar across his shoulder was given by a Dire Bear, the one across his left eye from a Manticore, and his right eye was claimed by the worst kind of monster, the human kind.
On a contract he fell in love with the peasant who saw to his wounds, Veera. At first it seemed they were made for each other. Canaan even settled down and stopped being A Black Dagger, but when Veera miscarried their baby she snapped. Stricken with grief she lashed out attacking Canaan, he tried to stop her(loosing his eye in the process) but when she went to attack a young boy he shoved his sword through her back
Now Canaan lives his life as a monster hunter should, on the road and alone.
In recent years Canaan hunts in the Desert. His original plan was to find his father, but he only found his father's grave. After that he decided to stay in the Desert. Not many Daggers hunt there, easy coin for him.
