Northern War

The war with the northern tribes has been a hard fought war, full of losses on both sides and ultimately accomplishing nothing. The borders have not moved and the north still refuses to organize for more than defense, much less to join the empire. The frigid north is a harsh place for a war. Bleak, frozen, and bitter, the northern snow fields are said to have been affected by powerful rituals gone wrong by long passed humans trying to make their part of the wastes better. Jarkarites, coming from the deserts to the south, were ill equipped to fight in the icy doom that has become the north.

After the initial foray into the northern snows, Emperor Jarkar I started sending smaller groups into the cold. Not only for reconnaissance on the tribes, but the lands themselves. The north is a harsh place, filled with environmental, monstrous, and psychological challenges; to conquer those challenges and to wage a war would take patience and time.

This war was passed down the generations until @Emperor Jarkar VI, who ended the war with a tenuous treaty to ignore each other. With his passing, his daughter, Emperor Beatrice Jarkar VII, is looking to restart the war.
