Maker's Mark
Workshop of the Damned
Beware the Maker, or you shall be his Mark
Another door with cryptic carvings in words of warning await those that enter the Castle of the Damned. An oaken door falls open, creaking on broken hinges to reveal a bloody room, parts of humanoids and monsters alike resting in piles. Bones, body parts, screws and tools litter the room in haphazard piles, some labeled, others being left to the imagination about what horrifying thing rests there. A single metal table rests in the room, stained black from dried blood. Unlike the room of Demise, this room screams danger to all who will listen.
In letters too jagged to fully be the script of the Elves or the Silver Elves are labels to give name to the things that rest in piles of dripping blood and other fluids. I find this humerus, Do you enjoy my skele-puns, and other papers with off-color humor stand out against the bloodied, dark walls. The script is etched in ice blue ink, the only color except the reds and blacks of death that stand out in this dungeon.
Safety is impossible to come by in the castle, but the lack of the so-called Maker lulls you into a false hope, a false safety. Those who enter the room and move towards the table begin to hear the ragged sounds of labored breathing. No person is the source of the sound, but one of the piles moves slightly, like the movement of a chest taking in breath. On closer inspection, the pieces and parts of Human, Silver Elf, Elf, and other creatures litter the room, even the horns of a Minotaur and the still-beating wings of a Fairy without their body can be found. Magic and Science, this room is one of both, one that invokes fear in even the most hardened Warrior, but when the fear sneaks up on you, it is far too late to save yourself.
The oaken door on broken hinges slams shut and a fireplace hidden by a pile of aged bones roars to life. Those piles that looked as if they were breathing slowly pull themselves from the floor. The realization that these...creatures...if you can even call them that, are built from the castoff pieces from around the room, explains the now forgotten warning. Once the door has shut, you have become the Maker' s Mark.Entries
There seems to be only one door into the chamber, but the scale of the room and the amount of materials in the room make it impossible to tell for sure whether the door you enter is the only way in or out.
