The Demon Revolt

Brief

The Demon Revolt was an uprising between three demon families within Isidoro: the bloodkeepers of the Leaf Clans, the corvids and the weres. This revolt was due to territory migration of outside Leaf Clan bloodkeepers as a result of the Bloodkeeper-Human War chasing bloodkeepers from their land.

The Conflict

Prelude

After the Bloodkeeper-Human War the many Leaf Clan bloodkeepers were pushed out of territory within Juptmou, being forced out of the forests they had called home. While some fought to hold ground, others relented and moved toward the borders.   The bloodkeepers that pushed toward the borders found resistance with other Leaf Clans already established within the forests, as well as resistance with other inhabitants such as corvids and weres.

Deployment

The bloodkeepers of Juptmou believed that due to bloodkeepers already holding territory within Hajev and Quecel, there would be no issue with migrating across territory lines. However due to the sudden increase in numbers, not all could be taken in by these other clans which caused disruption between other species living in the area.

Displeased by the intruders, the weres and corvids of the area banded together in a sudden and violent revolt, acting first and fearing the old and new bloodkeepers would try to push them out of their land.

The Engagement

While the bloodkeepers could heal minor wounds with their saliva, they couldn't keep up with the weres' massive healing factor and incredible size. The weres also had allies in the corvids, who would attack from above while the weres dominated the land. The bloodkeepers' only strength was in their ability to use magic simultaneously with their weapons. Weres already were taxing their bodies with full-shifts or mid-shifts, and to glide and fly with proper accuracy, corvids were limited in the weaponry they could use.

Bloodkeepers yield, spread out further and migrate farther; Corvids and Weres hold their territory
A Guide chosen from all other guides to represent neighbouring packs had travelled to the thick trunked trees that housed the corvid villages. Both communities' scouts had seen increased bloodkeeper activity--new Family Bonds that they had never seen before. One or two could be excuseable; new families, new bonds...But this...This was twenty, thirty...More than what was normal. The guide glanced up as a large corvid glided down from their treetop home, air magic billowing up to meet them.

"Our scouts filled you in, yes?" She, with wonderous black plummage, ruffled her wings. "They're increasing their numbers rapidly. We think it is a trap. Preparing for another war. This time with demons. More land." They spoke simply, having to avoid a language barrier. "It is unaceptable. We must discuss retaliations."

This is a really great piece. I especially enjoy that it was their forced migration that started this war. Using the sidebar to give the guide's point of view really helps bring a personal view to the war.

Thank you! I wanted to try and link something as fall out from other wars and how that changed the world. I like doing quotes to make stuff personal in all my articles. I appreciate the comment : )
