Long Lake People
The Long Lake People or the Long Lake Civilizations, also known as the People of the Longhouses, were a group of culturally and linguistically close nations and tribes who became distinct from their Coast-Lakian Ancestors as they migrated to the Great-Mountains Land at around 3000 HE.
Coming from Lowlands, the Long Lake People settled the Land at the Feet of the Great Mountains around -500 YT and came to characterize the region.
The Late Classical Era of the region is considered to start at the end of the Kindmountian-Harmonic War and saw the Great Harmony become the more influential and powerful Long Lake Nation, as well as its expansion down the Great River.
Although fairly culturally homogeneous during the Harmonic Golden Age and in the beginning of the Dim Era, the annexation of most of the Great-Mountains Land by the Tuataran Fiefdom around 4650 HE severed the link between the the Long Lake People around the south of the Great River and those in the Great-Mountains Land, accelerating the already-growing emergence of a seperate South Great River culture.
Name
The name "Long Lake People" is an exonym: as the Clan of the Long Lake was at the edge of the region, it traded a lot down the Great River with the Tyrant Kingdom and other southern nations. The name "Long Lake" progressively began to be applied to the entire region and to its people, and was soon used within the Great-Mountains Land, whereas before they called themselves the People of the Great Mountains or the Mountains People.Remove these ads.
