They tend to draw in naturally violent people, those who simply wish to fight and kill. They do however value their contracts above all else, Bastion members are taught that your contract are your reputation and without them you are worthless to the group. Relationships The Bastion is feared by most settlements, even if it is with a degree of respect, Smaller cities typically only rely on them in desperate times and only when they have the gold to do so. Larger cities see them as mercenaries to hire, a tool to be used not an ally to protect.
