The Red Horizon

The Infamous Ship of the Crimson Sails

Overview
The Red Horizon is a legendary pirate ship known for its iconic crimson sails and fearsome reputation. Once helmed by Captain Renwick "Ironheart" Kane, this formidable vessel struck both admiration and fear across the seas. Though it was recently lost to misfortune during a treasure expedition, the tales of the Red Horizon continue to echo in taverns and ports, its history woven into seafaring folklore.

History
The Red Horizon was built with one purpose: to claim freedom and fortune on the high seas. Captain Renwick Kane acquired the ship through cunning, seizing it from a rival pirate lord and outfitting it for speed, durability, and stealth. Under his command, the Red Horizon became a symbol of defiance, and over the years, its reputation grew as it successfully evaded privateers, raided merchant vessels, and even repelled navy fleets.

The ship's last expedition, a treasure hunt to a fabled island of riches, was marred by disaster. After the ship was mysteriously lost during their journey, the crew continued on foot, determined to complete their mission. But their hopes were dashed as a rogue wave overtook the island, and only Keyton Malloy, the first mate, survived to tell the tale. The loss of the Red Horizon and its crew has since become a tragic legend, fueling rumors of curses and dark omens that continue to surround its memory.

Features and Design
The Red Horizon was a warship uniquely adapted for piracy, designed to navigate treacherous waters and endure heavy cannon fire. Painted in dark hues to blend with the sea at night, the ship was as swift as it was resilient, built for long voyages and unpredictable battles.

  • Crimson Sails: The ship’s distinctive red sails are rumored to be dyed with a rare pigment found only in distant islands. They symbolize both the blood shed for the ship’s freedom and the fear it inspires.
  • Roaring Lion Figurehead: The Red Horizon boasts an imposing figurehead of a roaring lion, carved from a rare, dark wood. This emblem represented the crew’s courage and resilience, a fierce icon that warned of the ship's might.
  • Reinforced Hull: To outlast its enemies, the ship was fitted with extra reinforcements along its hull, making it resistant to cannon fire and capable of ramming enemy vessels if necessary.
  • Hidden Compartments: The Red Horizon was outfitted with concealed storage areas for contraband and treasure, allowing the crew to smuggle goods past authorities.
