Imperilism
Imperilism is the official state religion of the Ashardian Empire. Its practitioners believe in the Divinity of All Gods, and practice a form of ancestor worship in the form of the Saints. There are 5 "Greater Saints" in Imperilism, who come from the times of Myth, and a countless number of lesser and personal Saints that have been canonized over the years.
Divine Origins
Imperilism comes from more traditional Heartlander religion. In centuries past, the ancient Heartlanders canonized all of their dead as "saints", and built impressive networks of barrows and caves throughout the Eastern Hills. Over time, certain folk heroes became worshipped as "Greater Saints", and were connected to the spreading Mannish Pantheon from the South. This is when the term "Imperilism" first comes to record. As Dragonwind became a dominant settlement in the global stage, it began to spread Imperilism to the lands South of Corinas. At the same time, Imperilism became more sophisticated, and began to develop a vast canon including scriptures, stories, and temples across the Empire.
Tenets of Faith
Imperilists believe that the Gods are to be worshipped, and that the Saints are to be used as a model of how to carry oneself and mantle the Gods.

Canon Imperilists
The Canon Imperilists dominate much of Eastern Corinas, as well as the lands of Evermarsh. They believe in the official doctrine of the Temple Imperator in Dragonwind, and worship in large churches and temples across the Empire. Many devoted take a pilgrimage to the 5 Shrines of Corinas once they turn 25, a requirement for all who wish to attain priesthood in Imperilism. Much of the generic "Ancestor Worship" has been replaced by listed, canon Saints of the Church as well, and the practice of worshipping Non-Canon Saints is strictly forbidden.
Non-Canon Imperilists
A Non-Canon Imperilist, as identified by the Church, is "anyone who chooses to worship saints that have not been canonized by the Temple Imperator". Many of these people live outside of Corinas, where local heroes are more likely to be heralded as Imperilist Saints in spite of the Church's official doctrine.
Old Way Imperilists
Found almost entirely in the hills of Western Corinas, the "Old Way Imperilists" don't believe in many or all of the canon saints, and instead choose to keep with the traditional ancestor worship of the Heartlands. The Old Way is closely associated with the tribal peoples of the Heartland, and has deep roots in ancient Corinas culture.
